Since its creation in 1962, this wholesale and retail market dedicated to the Black Diamond right from the village of Lalbenque, in the south of the Lot, the Capital of Black Truffles.

The members of the truffle steering committee in Lalbenquecreated at the initiative of the municipality and the Cahors Vallée du Lot Tourist Office to bring together all the players, organized a festive afternoon to launch the season.

A festive afternoon

It will begin with the inauguration of the market by Mme Mayor Liliane Lugol at 1:30 p.m., in the presence of many officials. As tradition dictates, the ribbon will be cut and the guests will stroll to the town hall square. From 2 p.m., speeches will be given in front of the town hall.

Two traditional musicians will liven up the afternoon: an accordionist and a cabrette player. At 3 p.m., at the traditional whistle, individuals will be able to acquire the precious mushroom.

A digging demonstration

Truffle players have high hopes for this 2024-2025 season thanks to fairly favorable summer weather for truffles.

Finally, at 3:30 p.m., visitors are invited in front of the Truffe House, to attend a digging demonstration offered by the Des Perles du Quercy breeding farm.

We have therefore made an appointment for an exceptional inaugural afternoon in the Capital of Black Truffles!

All information on activities can be obtained from the Cahors Vallée du Lot Tourist Office on cahorsvalléedulot.com or on the website capitaledelatruffe.lalbenque.fr!
