Three men aged between 19 and 30 were attacked with a knife on Monday 1st July around 9pm in the Saint-Louis district of the 15th arrondissement of Marseille. They were first hit by a vehicle before being stabbed. Two of the three victims are in critical condition and the third is in critical condition.

The incident took place this Monday evening, around 9pm, in the Saint-Louis district in the 15th arrondissement of Marseille. Three men were injured by stab wounds after being hit by a van. The three men were transported by emergency services, two of the three victims are in life-threatening condition.

According to the initial findings and initial testimonies collected by the police, “These attacks are said to be based on a possible story of extortion gone wrong,” a police source told France 3 Provence-Alpes.

Around 9 p.m. on Monday, July 1, three men aged between 19 and 30 years old ” from the Roma community”, the police source indicates, were hit by a van. Instead of being rescued, they were then stabbed. One of the men received five stab wounds to the chest and one to the head. One of the other men received a stab wound with a puncture of the lung and was also hit with a bat on the ankle, causing it to fracture. The third man received seven stab wounds in the back. The three men were rescued by the Marseille firefighters. The latter confirm “the care of three men and the vital prognosis engaged for two of them following a collision with a vehicle and injuries inflicted by a knife”.

An investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of this attack.
