“Instinct”, the manga from content creator Inoxtag, released at the end of last week, has had a record start in France, Michel Lafon editions announced on Wednesday November 27. In four days of operation, the YouTuber's manga sold 82,760 copies.
With more than 80,000 copies sold, no first volume has sold so quickly. The record for the best launch goes to volume 100 of One Piece, sold in December 2021 at 131,270 copies in three days according to Glénat editions.
“Instinct”, co-written with Basile Monnot and Charles Compain, and illustrated by Charles Compainest, is the 22-year-old's first manga. Inoxtag regularly refers to its passion for the world of manga, notably wearing a straw hat, a reference to the character Luffy from the One Piece saga.
In September, his documentary “Kaizen”, retracing his ascent of Everest, was a spectacular success. It attracted more than 300,000 spectators in theaters and has since accumulated nearly 39 million views on YouTube.
