It was under a shower of emotion and applause that Renée and Marcel Heytensaged 82 and 79 respectively, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday October 26, 2024, surrounded by their family and friends.

During the ceremony, Frédéric Duchéthe mayor of Andelys (Your), was keen to highlight the impact of this couple in the social and associative life of the town, recalling the extent to which they are figures respected and loved by all.

He presented them with the City medal, evoking their commitment, their work, and the courage they have always shared.

Marcel and Renée have shared the same happiness since their meeting in 1963 at the Léry-Poses funfair.

It was love at first sight which pushed them to get married only 7 months later.

After a successful career as a machine operator, including the last years at Lafarge, Marcel confides that, even if he loved his job, his true happiness remains the life he shares with his other half.

“My greatest happiness is to have met my wife. We have always shared everything. »

For her part, Renée, who worked as a caregiver at the Andelys hospital, says she is very grateful to the man she married, emphasizing his kindness and courage.

The couple had the joy of welcoming four children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lovers of life and active within the commune of Andelys, Renée and Marcel embody the values ​​of solidarity and friendship.

Between their associative commitments and their passions for the choir, football, the twinning committee, they have never stopped sharing their enthusiasm.
