The Bollinger Group is beginning a strategic turning point at the dawn of its bicentenary by announcing the appointment of Gonzague Villedey to the position of Deputy Managing Director as of January 1, 2025. A member of the sixth generation of the Bollinger family, he succeeds Gérard Bouleau, who is retiring after playing a key role in the transformation of the family group.

During his four years at the head of operations, Gérard Bouleau initiated ambitious projects, such as the acquisition of prestigious estates in (Château d'Etroyes in Côte Chalonnaise and Hubert Brochard in Sancerre) and internationally (Ponzi Vineyards in Oregon). These initiatives have made it possible to further anchor the Bollinger Group in the world of great wines and to diversify its offering. Under her leadership, the group also strengthened its societal commitment with the organic conversion of its vineyards and the creation of the Madame Bollinger Fund to support local citizen initiatives.

Étienne Bizot, Chairman and CEO of the group, praised the excellence and humanity of Gérard Bouleau, while expressing his confidence in Gonzague Villedey to continue the development of the group. “Through his experience, his dynamism and his professionalism, Gonzague will continue to lead our teams in our various projects,” he declared.

Ambitious projects for a sustainable future

The Bollinger Group has a clear ambition: to increase the desirability of its areas in a complex economic and political context. Among the flagship projects, the opening of a hotel in Aÿ in 2028 promises an immersive experience in the heart of Champagne, combining exclusivity and family spirit. At the same time, environmental commitment will be intensified, with efforts accumulated to reduce the carbon footprint and promote biodiversity.

With a diversified career in large industrial groups and seven years at the head of a family SME, Gonzague Villedey joined the Bollinger Group at the start of 2024 as director of mergers and acquisitions. This experience allowed him to immerse himself in the world of great wines and actively contribute to the group's growth strategy.
