With our guest this Tuesday morning on France Bleu Pays de Savoie we talked about the health of businesses in Haute-Savoie. Isabelle Delyon, president of the Annecy commercial court, told us that in recent months more businesses have been encountering difficulties.
We mainly talk about social plans when they affect large groups or large companies, but many SMEs are also going out of business. In Savoie, the Chambéry commercial court has already recorded 300 business failures for this year (i.e. in recovery or liquidation), which is 100 more than last year at the same time. Concerning the perimeter of the Annecy commercial court, there the number of judicial liquidations already amounted to 200 in mid-September (there had been 241 over the whole of 2023).
Real estate, automobiles and catering are the most affected sectors
According to Isabelle Delyon, the president of the Annecy commercial court, the sectors experiencing the most difficulties in her jurisdiction are: “construction/real estate, the automotive sector and catering. Concerning the Arve valley, specialized in bar turning, the situation is very worrying according to her. “The Arve valley is sick” Isabelle Delyon told us. “Most companies are subcontractors in automobile manufacturing, a sector that is changing rapidly with electric cars. There are 180-degree turns to take in terms of technology, we are a little behind but it will happen. TO DO” wants to believe Isabelle Delyon.
