Snowmen, Christmas balls, fir trees, snowflakes, garlands… For the end of year celebrations, Les Frères Labrosse, a duo of painters, made up of Sourdin, Morgan Poulain, and Granvillais, Maxime Bouchaudon, decorate with pretty paintingsin bright colors, the windows of the shops in La Manche, and other departments.
Pretty Christmas frescoes, throughout the Channel and more
“We started at the beginning of November and we’re going to paint for six weeks, every day except Sunday,” Morgan announces.
“We are the only ones in Manche to paint so much, professionally, and we decorate windows throughout Normandy, but also in Sarthe or Mayenne, for example,” continues the man who lives in Villedieu-les-Poêles, a municipality with the Ville et Métiers d’Art label.
Maxime and Morgan also tackle the artisans' showcases than to those of big brands. If you live in Granville, you couldn't have missed their colossal decorations, on the facades of the E.Leclerc group's stores (cultural spaces, drugstores, etc.).
Paintings that last
Obviously, if it rains too hard or if it snows, the artists will not work, as was the case last November 21, for example.
Their paintings, resist However to all types of bad weather. “Once dry, they no longer move!” », assures Morgan, who continues: “They do not damage the tiles either and to remove them, no need for chemicals, just scrape them with hot water”.
After the 80th anniversary of the Landing, the Granville Carnival
The style of the Labrosse Brothers may not seem unknown to you, you have probably seen some of their creations, last June.
Indeed, Maxime and Morgan had represented tanks and friendly soldiers, on the shop fronts, on the occasion of the 80e anniversary of the Landing.
After the holidays, their next major project will be to beautify Granville, for its 151e Carnaval.
In June-July 2025, the partners will travel to Calvados and Brittany, to draw many cyclistss, on the occasion of the passage of the Tour de France.
Childhood friends, who have worked hand in hand for 12 years
As you can see, this is not the Manchois' first attempt. This makes 12 ans now let them work together.
Their collaboration began in Villedieu-les-Poêleswhere an “Englishman lived who decorated the windows and was looking for someone to work with him,” explains Morgan, who then offered to help him.
The requests piled up and the two Deafs put out a call to find a new teammate. This is how Maxime has joined the adventure.
After the departure of “the Englishman”, the childhood friends called themselves “Les Frères Labrosse”, and continued to paint amusing characters on the facades of the shops every year.
Beautiful artistic creations, which we hope, for the pleasure of the eyes, will continue to multiply in the towns of the Channel!
