Between 2022 and 2024, the candidacy of MP Louis Margueritte won more than 2,100 votes. Certainly, a figure to be compared to the participation rate, but in the context of the anti-Macron referendum, the result is rather good.
Some will be satisfied with the froth and will only look at the places on the podium on the evening of this first round, but if we analyze the results in detail, the Macronist deputy Louis Margueritte will not collapse in 2022 and 2024. Of course, the significantly higher turnout changes the situation, but in the context of an anti-Macron referendum, we could have expected to find the outgoing deputy in 4th position in this first round of the legislative elections. And this is where we can say that he is doing rather well and against all expectations. In 2017, Raphaël Gauvain, then a candidate in full Macron euphoria, totaled 12,443 votes while his successor Louis Margueritte arrived in the first round with 9,578 votes in 2022 with a smaller differential of more than 2,800 votes. Logically, we insist on the context, it would have been to fear a similar erosion for 2024. It was not the case finally with certainly a mobilization of the voters, which also benefited the candidacy of Louis Margueritte, winning 2121 votes in the space of 2 years with 11699 votes this Sunday evening of the first round of the legislative elections. As such, political life is very surprising… A situation which undoubtedly explains his desire to stay in the 2nd round which will be played next Sunday.
