Who has never dreamed of having their own little corner of the garden close to you, of growing strawberries or peas or of having planters filled with flowers? But how can we cope with increasing heat and a sun that gets hotter and hotter from year to year? Well, Wilfried Jaulard will help you make your dream come true thanks to his bioclimatic cultivation and permaculture planters with thermal insulation!

Wilfried Jaulard and Ooop’s, his little dog who accompanies him in this project, welcome us into their workshop, where the famous planters are built but not only that, since, in addition to bioclimatic planters, the range continues with pots, planters, corner planters and even birdhouses.

These planters keep the root system of plants fresh thanks to an ingenious system of hot air circulation and evaporation water recovery. They are made of rot-proof wood and must face due south, which is why the cardinal points are printed in black ink on their four sides. We can even have composters integrated into planters.

Naturally, Wilfried filed a patent, unique in France, for his creations, in January 2024 at Inpi via the Med’invent firm in La Ciotat. It is an industrial property consultancy firm whose mission is to support innovative companies with the filing of invention patents.

Wilfried has a very rich background. He is originally a cabinetmaker. He studied art cabinetmaking for three years in Marseille and specialized in design for six months at the Revel school near Toulouse. He then applied what he had learned in the woodworking trade to stainless steel to become a metalworker at the La Ciotat shipyard where he worked for 15 years.

Today, he is returning to his first job and offering a new concept of new generation growing planters which will allow you to grow fruits and vegetables, plants and other shrubs all year round. And thus contribute to improving your health while discovering the return of true taste and flavors.

Winner of a competition in La Ciotat

This idea started about eight years ago on the terraces of Ceyreste, looking for a way to cultivate above ground and attract biodiversity by creating planters until finding the right solution to climate change. “My goalhe said, is to put in place and available to all, a concept of bioclimatic cultivation and permaculture planter with thermal insulation.”

With this concept, Wilfried won the first competition for Young Business Creators of La Ciotat. Currently he is self-employed, his company is called Terre”Mik. With the planters installed at his home, he harvested between 30 and 40 kg of fruits and vegetables in the year: beans, peas, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, strawberries, raspberries, grapes, etc.

Wilfried has already supplied 19 planters to the education department of the City of La Ciotat. They have been installed in the playgrounds of all the city’s nursery and elementary schools for children to use. At the moment, he is finalizing an order placed by the La Ciotat cooperative where everyone will be able to buy them. He shares : “I wish everyone could put their hands back in the dirt and simply feed themselves.
