The Little Singers of Côtes-Armor start their tour at Saint-Brieuc Cathedral

The day before they leave for their Breton tour (they will be in Vannes on Wednesday July 3; Quimper on July 4; Saint-Pol-de-Léon on July 6 and Lannion on July 7), the young ambassadors from Saint-Brieuc and Lannion from the Petits chanteurs de Saint-Brieuc et de Lannion will give a concert in the Saint-Étienne cathedral in Saint-Brieuc on Tuesday July 2 at 9 p.m.

180 singers

For several months, nearly 180 choristers, including 140 young people, have been preparing La passion celtique-Ar basion vrasan oratorio in Breton by Christian Desbordes and Goulc’han Kervella. This work is inspired by traditional texts and melodies as well as Breton calvaries. The singers will be accompanied by an orchestra of around twenty professional musicians, both classical and traditional, during the five concerts of their summer tour, including the one in Saint-Brieuc.

The Petits chanteurs are choirs of adolescents aged 11 to 18, also called choirs, who practice singing – 4 or 5 hours per week – as part of their schooling. They are directed in Saint-Brieuc by Goulven Airault, and in Lannion by François-Xavier Kernin.

Tuesday July 2ndat the Saint-Brieuc Cathedral, concert by the Petits chanteurs, at 9 p.m. Admission: €15; reduced, €10; free for under-18s.
