Before the match Angers and Charnay shared control of the championship with Bourges also. Following the Tango setback on Saturday evening, the winner would be able to celebrate being alone in the lead at the end of the 7th day. The Pinkies had a hot shot behind the 3-point line in the 1st quarter with an excellent 4 out of 5. Angers was running behind the score and the teammates ofAnna BY NDJOCK (16 points, 5 rebounds) conceded a 9-point deficit after 10 minutes played. Charnay managed its advantage rather well, even if at the end of the first half, UFAB 49 came back to one possession (36-39). After the break, it was the players ofAurélie BONNAN who took the advantage (45-41), but it did not last long. Indeed, the partners ofElizabeth BALOGUN (14 points, 3 rebounds) put together an authoritarian 8-0 (45-49). Between the end of the 3rd quarter and the start of the 4th, Charnay produced a 9-0 which placed the Rhône team in orbit (50-51, 50-60). The Pinkies' strong defense made the difference with 6 blocks in the match, including 3 made by Marama DARAMY (9 points, 5 rebounds, 3 blocks). With this victory, Charnay moves alone to the top of the Boulangère Wonderligue rankings, and this is the first time in the club's history.
Basket Landes welcomed Chartres to its Espace François-Mitterand. This meeting which started at a small offensive pace (6-7) after 5 minutes, was marked by the debut of the Dutch international Kourtney TREFFERS (5 points, 3 rebounds) who joined the Basket Landes squad following the departure of Samantha FUERHING for personal reasons. The two teams responded tit for tat at the end of the first quarter and the score was almost balanced (15-13). The teammates of Luisa GEISELSODER (21 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists) produced a more solid 2nd quarter offensively and the German interior was hard to contain for the Chartres defense. Despite a poor 1 out of 8 long distance in the 2nd quarter, Basket Landes returned to the locker room with a margin of 8 points (37-29). Via Frida ELDEBRINK (14 points, 5 rebounds), the Bluelights attempted an overturn at the start of the 3rd quarter (39-36). An 11-0 would follow against them and the task would become complicated for the teammates ofEve MAHOUTOU (13 points, 3 assists). The 10-point lead at the start of the 4th quarter was well managed by Basket Landes who did not have to force things to stay the course and thus secure a 5th victory in the championship this season. Having the best goal average in Bourges and Angers, the players of Julie BARENNES find themselves in 2nd place tied.
