On the evening of the first round of the 2024 legislative elections, the outgoing MP, Béatrice Piron (Ensemble/LREM) came first in the 3e Yvelines constituency with 34.49% of the votes. “Against the extreme right, I will put forward a union candidacy in the second round. For the Republic, let’s stay mobilized,” says Béatrice Piron on X, in office since 2017.

In the 3e constituency of Yvelines, the National Rally has broken through with Valentin Salvino, bearer of the alliance with Les Républicains. With 22.79% of the votes, he is positioned in second place, ahead of the New Popular Front with 20.85%, and Othman Nasrou, the LR president of Yvelines who is not qualified for the second round since he did not collected only 16.96%. “We are moving to 200 votes from qualification to the second round,” underlines Othman Nasrou on X.

No triangle

However, this Monday 1is July 2024, the New Popular Front candidate withdrew from the second round, avoiding a triangular. “I call for a barrier against the National Rally and to prevent them from having an absolute majority,” testifies Thomas Ciano, secretary of the Versailles section of the Socialist Party, referring to a short campaign but with numerous field actions.

“It’s a success to be able to set up the New Popular Front so quickly. Presumably the voters agreed. It’s satisfying to be neck and neck with the LR/RN candidate. »

In Chesnay-Rocquencourt, the most important commune of this 3e constituency, Béatrice Piron (Ensemble/LREM) obtained 34.11% of the votes, followed by Valentin Salvino (LR/RN) with 25.04% of the votes. It is also in this city that the candidate François-Xavier Bellamy (LR) won 22.26% of the votes during the European elections of June 2024, a rare municipality where the Les Républicains party came in first. Voters then placed Valérie Hayer of the presidential majority in second place with 20.79% of the votes.

First campaign for Valentin Salvino, surprise of this election

Valentin Salvino is the surprise of this election. At 31 years old, this is a first campaign for him.

“It’s a very nice victory,” he confides. During the last legislative elections in this constituency, there were no Republican candidates. This first round shows great momentum for the two parties that I represent. With the alliance, it is a victory for the right. When Emmanuel Macron announced the dissolution, we made this choice. When Éric Ciotti asked me to come here, I didn’t hesitate. I am on a clear line, from the right that does not blush. »

“I call on all right-wing voters in the 3rd constituency of Yvelines to join me and stand up to the inaction.”

Born in Lorraine in Thionville, this candidate graduated from Sciences Po Paris believes he knows the territory he has frequented well. “I made my professional career in communications, in Île-de-France. I worked for medium and large companies. I also had my own company in communications. I have a good professional background. I know the sector very well.”

Moving from communication to politics, Valentin Salvino is committed to “less immigration, more purchasing power, including a reduction in VAT on electricity, fuel and gas from July if the French trust us. Also, more security is needed because there is an attack on average every 44 seconds. »

Unprecedented participation

Participation was 73% in Chesnay-Rocquencourt. “There was a great mobilization, and 1,800 proxies, the equivalent of an office and a half, is unheard of,” shares Richard Delepierre, mayor of Chesnay-Rocquencourt. It’s good to be interested in politics again. »

It remains to be seen whether this commitment will be confirmed in the second round, on Sunday July 7, the first weekend of the school holidays.

The results of 1is turn: Béatrice Piron (Together): 34.49%, Valentin Salvino (Union of the far right): 22.79%; Thomas Ciano (Union of the Left): 20.85%; Othman Nasrou (LR): 16.96%.
