Who is Glenn Nyberg?
Glenn Nyberg is 35 years old and is a Swedish referee who began his career in 2008. He became an Allsvenskan referee in 2008, then was crowned a FIFA referee in 2016. Glenn Nyberg explained, in 2021, that he was inspired by his father, himself a referee assistant in Sweden.
The France-Belgium referee and Euro 2024
Nyberg has already managed two matches in this Euro, Romania/Ukraine (3-0), in the Red Devils’ group, and Albania/Spain (0-1). An international since 2016, the Swede is officiating for the first time in a major international tournament, but has already managed seven Champions League matches, including the quarter-final first leg between Arsenal and Bayern Munich this season.

Nyberg will be officiating a Red Devils match for the first time. The Swede has refereed two Genk matches in Europe: against Dinamo Zagreb in the group stage of the 2021/2022 Europa League (1-1) and against Olympiacos in the 3rd round first leg of the Europa League qualifiers in August 2023 (1-0 defeat).
