The main surprise in Bouches-du-Rhône remains the participation, which stood at 63.34% at 5 p.m. in the department, much higher than the national average (59.39%). The result of this mobilization, at the exit of the polls, follows the national trend, offering the second round to most of the National Rally candidates. Some even have the luxury of doing without it, like the departmental secretary of the Frontist party Franck Allisio: the outgoing deputy is re-elected in the first round in the 12th constituency (Vitrolles, Marignane) with 54.07% of the votes.

Elsewhere, in the eight other constituencies of the department excluding Marseille, the RN is in the lead everywhere for the second round. This is the case first among its outgoing deputies. In the 15th constituency (Saint-Rémy, Châteaurenard), Romain Baubry came close to winning the election in the first round (49.48%) and will finally return in the second week to face the candidate of the New Popular Front (NFP) Wassila Aïdarous (20.21 %). In the 10th, José Gonzales, reinforced by his 48.83%, will be opposed next Sunday to the Ensemble candidate Véronique Boucert-Giner (21.54%), who arrived just ahead of the NFP candidate Jimmy Bssaish (20.8%). Also well ahead with 47.12%, Emmanuel Taché de la Pagerie will face Nicolas Koukas invested by the NFP (29.92%) on Sunday. RN-NFP duel also in sight in the 9th constituency, where the outgoing frontist MP Joëlle Mélin will race in the lead against Bernard Ougourlou-Oglou. According to Marsactu, while the results were not yet final, Bertrand Mas-Fraissinet, the departmental representative of Renaissance who came third, was already calling for “to block the RN and vote for the socialist candidate, asking him to break with LFI. If he does not do so, he will assume responsibility for it.”.

Minister Sabrina Agresti Roubache withdraws

The RN in pole position is also the case in constituencies hitherto held by other political colors. In the 13th constituency (Martigues), stronghold of the Communist Party for nearly four decades, the outgoing deputy Pierre Dharréville (PCF) thus leaves in an unfavorable ballot (36.02%) against the RN candidate Emmanuel Fouquart (47.53% of the votes). ). In the 8th constituency (Salon, Miramas, etc.), the outgoing deputy of the presidential majority Jean-Marc Zulesi, who came second (26.73%), far behind the RN candidate Romain Tonussi (44.63%) can hope for the withdrawal of the candidate of the Union of Lefts, who received 20.07% of the votes. Even more cruel configuration for Mohamed Laqhila, outgoing Ensemble deputy in the 11th constituency (Aix), came in third position with 26.28% of the votes behind the socialist Marc Pena (NFP, 27.54%), the RN Hervé Fabre-Aubrespy putting him in the lead with 38.87%.

It was also a cold shower for Anne-Laurence Petel, the outgoing presidential majority in the neighboring 14th constituency (Aix), who also had to settle for third place (28.91%) behind the socialist Jean-David Ciot (29.48%) and Gérault Verny, one of the RN-LR candidates for the Ciotti option (but whose past in Provence had been revealed at Reconquête) who collected 31.65% of the votes. In the evening, the outgoing MP nevertheless announced to her supporters her intention to remain in the second round despite everything. In the seven constituencies of Marseille, if the first final results were not to be released before midnight, Sébastien Delogu (7th) and Manuel Bompard (4th) had already announced their victory in the first round. In the 1st constituency, Minister Sabrina Agresti Roubache, who came in third place behind NFP candidate Pascaline Lécorché, announced her withdrawal in an attempt to prevent RN candidate Monique Grisetti from winning.

The grand slam of the RN?

In Vaucluse, a promised land for years for the far right, it is no surprise that the RN is full of votes, even electing Hervé de Lépinau in the first round with 53.51% in the 3rd constituency. In the 4th, the outgoing RN (League of the South tendency, the micro-party of Orange mayor Jacques Bompard) Marie-France Lorho will have to represent herself before the voters next Sunday despite her 49.89%. She will face left-wing union candidate Monia Galvez, far behind with 19.64%. Left-RN duel also in the first constituency (Avignon), where Catherine Jaouen, in the lead with 34.62%, will try to save her position against Raphaël Arnaud, the NFP candidate who came second with 24.76% of the votes. The latter has a good reserve of votes, the left-wing dissident Philippe Pascal finishing with 18.27% of the votes without the possibility of maintaining his position.

What will Sylvie Viala, the presidential majority candidate in the 2nd district, do? Coming third (19.4%), she could remain in a triangular position or withdraw in favor of the NFP candidate, the socialist Patrick Blanes (14.85%), challenger of the outgoing MP Bénédicte Auzanot (45.95%). She finally announced this Sunday evening to France Bleu Vaucluse that she was withdrawing without voting instructions. Same question in the 5th constituency, the only one that the RN had not won in 2022, where the Ensemble candidate, Adrien Morenas, will have to decide what to do with his 20.29% since he came third behind the candidate of the union of the left Céline Celce (27.16%) and Catherine Rimbert for the RN (45.03%). The challenge: avoiding the grand slam of the RN in the department. He must announce his decision Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. on France Bleu Vaucluse.
