Since July 1, 1994, Laurence Vigne, from the 4th generation, has taken over the company created by his great-grandfather 150 years ago. Established as a carpenter on rue Fabrerie in Alès, he made coffins because, at the time, this function was assigned to the local carpenter, explains Laurence.

Laurence grew up in the premises and then it was obvious to her that she would take over the torch. She took over the brand at the age of 23, accompanied by her father. Now alone at the helm, Laurence has been able to recreate the family atmosphere and the conviviality necessary for the comfort of her colleagues who have been at her side for many years, some for more than twenty years. “Empathy, availability, listening, these are qualities necessary to exercise this profession”, explains Laurence, the manager of the family business.

There are seven of them working in the century-old company and supporting bereaved families. Each request is handled on a tailor-made basis, according to the wishes of the families or the deceased, the entire Vigne funeral team guides them in their choices.
