With 40.56% of the votes, RN candidate Bastian Duenas is well ahead of outgoing MP (PCF-New Popular Front) Nicolas Sansu (29.68%), and Horizons candidate Gabriel Behaghel (20.83%). The RN shatters its 2022 score (22.99%).

It is eight o’clock this Sunday evening when the PCF activists gathered at the headquarters of their section, not far from the Vierzon town hall, to read the first results on television. There is great silence there. The faces are sad, like Corinne Ollivier, the mayor (PCF): “We can only be disappointed with the result,” she says. We are not going to give up! We will do everything we can to ensure that Nicolas Sansu is elected deputy. »

At the constituency level, the outgoing MP is hardly surprised by the tidal wave of the National Rally: “There is an extremely strong push from the far right. The objective is to block the national gathering. I have never been wrong when it comes to beating the far right. I still have a grandfather who was killed by the militia. »

In front of the France 3 cameras, Nicolas Sansu brandishes the danger of the RN: “We are going to be isolated in the world! We must do everything to get people to pull themselves together.” To PCF activists, he announced a large gathering on Thursday. ” We have to fight ! We never let the far right win! »

“Republican Front”

Small consolation, he comes out on top in Bourges. “In Bourges, I’m way ahead,” he says happily. “These are working-class neighborhoods.”

Thibault Lhonor (LFI) analyzed the results displayed in front of town hall last night. He notes the progression compared to 2022: “In the second constituency, Nicolas Sansu received 2,000 more votes in the first round than in 2022. The dynamics of the New Popular Front (NFP) made it possible to bring people back to the polls with participation significantly more significant in favor, in part, of the NFP. » The rebellious elected official continues: “we are witnessing a return to bipartisanship: an extreme right on one side, and a slightly more radical left on the other. »

Who came out on top in your municipality in the first round of the legislative elections?

Finally, according to Thibault Lhonneur, “in the event of a three-way race, when the RN comes out on top, those who came third must withdraw. There must be a republican front against the RN.”

The wish of the rebellious municipal councilor has been granted. This Sunday evening, Gabriel Behaghel announced, while congratulating himself on his result, that he would “withdraw for the second round. I call on Hugo Lefelle, who is in the same situation in the first constituency, to do the same.”

Bastian Duenas does not fear the withdrawal of Gabriel Behaghel: “Voters are fed up with the Republican front, we saw in 2022 that this allowed Emmanuel Macron to be re-elected, Nicolas Sansu too, and today people can’t take any more of one or the other. So this front today is a big smoke. » But above all, he took the opportunity to scratch the President of the Republic and the outgoing deputy: “We could expect to get 40% of the votes. This was what emerged from the field: a general fed up with the policies of Emmanuel Macron and the outgoing MP who did not represent the voters as they would have liked. »
