“These first two days have gone pretty well, both for me and for my team, said Remco Evenepoel on the official website of Tour de France. We have proven that the form is there. The leader of the team Soudal Quick-Step added : “Actually, the legs were there: I was just too far down the climb and had to close a gap between two groups halfway up, so I burned a few cartridges which subsequently failed. But I am very happy to have been able to return to the wheels of Tadej and Jonas. The pursuit was very difficult, but I continued to give myself because I saw that I was getting closer and closer.”
