The results of the first round of the legislative elections in the 1st constituency of the Rhône (Lyon)
A big lead for the NFP in the 1st constituency in Lyon
In this constituency, the outgoing deputy of the presidential majority (Renaissance) Thomas Rudigoz does not come out on top. With 29.7% of the vote, he is behind the candidate of the New Popular Front (LFI) Anaïs Belouassa-Cherifi, who obtained 42.4% of the votes. This close friend of Jean-Luc Mélenchon was secretary of the rebel campaign in 2022, then in 35th position in the 2024 European elections.
This result of the first round is in line with the logic of the European elections. If we count all the left-wing forces, the NFP had gathered more than 47% of the votes during the poll of June 9, when the presidential majority obtained only barely 15.5% of the votes.
If the momentum is on the side of the candidate of the left union, Anaïs Belouassa-Cherifi does not have any reserve of votes. Conversely, Thomas Rudigoz will be able to benefit from the votes of the Republican candidate Grégory Sansoz (5,8 %).
The National Rally, with Laurent Mouton, ranks third in this constituency, with 18.1% of the votes. And qualifies for the second round.
Morality: in an unprecedented triangular situation, the NFP candidate has every chance of winning.
