The holidays are over. After six weeks of travel and rest, FC Nantes coach Antoine Kombouaré called his troops together this Monday early afternoon at La Jonelière. Nineteen professional players are expected among which The Revenants Fabien CentonzeJunior Diaz or even Lamine Diack in order to begin their basic preparation which will take them to Fougères and their first friendly match, on July 12 against Caen.

Tests of all kinds and daily double training

At the end of the traditional handover of the new equipment, which kicks off the pre-season, the Kanak technician plans to call his players for a big back-to-school meeting. Joined by young people from the training centerthe partners of Pedro Chirivella, Alban Lafont and Bastien Meupiyou will then continue their afternoon with several series of tests which will lead them to a light training session, lasting one hour and most certainly without a ball.

It is only from Tuesday that the Canaries, deprived of Mostafa Mohamed who was granted extra holiday time for having played for the national team and Douglas Augusto who is leaving, will get to the heart of the matter. Separated into four groupsthey will alternate between club tests, clinical examinations and training sessions. Jocelyn Gourvennec’s successor on the bench of the Yellow House has even planned to double the training sessions until Saturday morning for Stredair Appuah, Adel Mahamoud, Hugo Barbet, Hugo Boutsingkham, Mathis Oger and others. Centered around land preparation, the sessions will be led by Michel Dufour, one of Kombouaré’s deputies, Rui Santos having decided not to continue the adventure at the end of his contract which ended in June.
