The Saskatchewan Roughriders will be without quarterback Trevor Harris for a minimum of six games.

That’s what head coach Corey Mace said Sunday, specifying that the 38-year-old veteran suffered a moderate ligament sprain in his left knee.

The former Montreal Alouettes pivot was injured in the final moments of the first half of his team’s 36-20 victory over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday.

Harris saw his 2023 season end after just five games last year due to a right knee injury. It was his first campaign with the Roughriders, he having decided to join the Saskatchewan team after having worn the colors of the “Als” for almost two seasons.

Shea Patterson is expected to take his place behind center while he awaits his return to play.

Before his injury, Harris completed 70 of 97 passes for 872 yards and seven touchdowns. He was also the victim of three interceptions.

The Roughriders are undefeated in three games so far in 2024 and sit atop the CHL West standings. They’ll try to continue their winning streak without Harris on Thursday night when the Toronto Argonauts visit Mosaic Stadium.
