A round table with reading of the rights defender's report on children and the environment is organized at the University of Nîmes on Monday November 25.
The sentences cited in the rights defender's report on young people's anxiety about a future made uncertain by climate change speak for themselves: “I'm afraid the planet will disappear when I'm an adult” (Léa, 10 years old), “I don’t see why we have to go to school because we’re all going to die when I’m an adult.” (Lucas 12 ans), “I’m afraid the animals will disappear and we will no longer be able to see them” (Tom, 13 years old).
The immense anxiety of young people about the future, in relation to the environment, is precisely the theme of the round table which will be organized at the University of Nîmes on Monday November 25 at 6 p.m. on the Vauban site.
Based on the reading of the report by the defender of the law on ecoanxiety and entitled “Children and environment, a generation in search of the future”, she invites around the table the president of the Unicef Languedoc-Roussillon territorial committee, partner of the event, Philip Seraphimides, the head of the Occitanie center at the Defender of Rights Romain Blanchard, Marianne Viremmouneix, responsible for leading the departmental youth council or even Florian Messador, creator of the Mémoire verte association in Nîmes, Steven Préget. director of Francas.
This round table will be moderated by Emmanuel Roche. Free and free entry subject to availability.
