2024 legislative results: Clément Beaune defeated by Emmanuel Grégoire in the 7th constituency of Paris

The first round of early legislative elections took place this Sunday, June 30.

In the 7th district of Paris, former minister Clément Beaune was defeated by the first deputy mayor of Paris Emmanuel Grégoire.

Here are the details of the results.

He was narrowly elected in 2022 against the Nupes candidate Caroline Mecary (50.73% against 49.27%, less than 700 votes difference). Former Transport Minister Clément Beaune, ousted from the government during the last reshuffle, failed to keep his seat as MP for Paris.

With 32.78% of the vote, the representative of the left wing of Macron’s party was beaten by the first deputy mayor of Paris, Emmanuel Grégoire (50.87%), elected in the first round in the 7th constituency this Sunday, June 30.

As a reminder, to qualify for the second round of the legislative elections, it was necessary to gather the votes of more than 12.5% of registered voters (and not of voters). If only one candidate fulfilled this condition, the candidate who obtained the greatest number of votes after him also remained in the second round. And if none succeeded, the two candidates who came in first qualified.
