Dakar, June 30 (APS) – The National Agency responsible for the promotion of investment and major state works announces the upcoming launch of several initiatives intended for Senegalese abroad including the concept “agricultural cooperatives of the Diaspora, with a view to facilitating their economic return, learned the APS from the communication services of this public structure.

“Soon, we will launch several tools aimed at the Senegalese diaspora which is the leading investor in Senegal with fund transfers reaching 2.2 billion euros in 2023, representing around 10% of the national GDP. APIX is committed to facilitating their economic return”, we can read in an article sent to the APS.

These initiatives were discussed at the end of a visit that the general director of APIX made in recent days to Morocco.

During this stay, Bakary Séga Bathily met, among others, associations of the Senegalese community based in the kingdom, the deputy director of CBAO, the subsidiary of the Moroccan financial group Attijariwafa and the president of the Africa commission of the general confederation of Moroccan enterprises.

The concept of “Agricultural Cooperatives of the Diaspora” which will be launched in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Secretary of State for Senegalese Abroad, will help to boost “further investments in the agricultural sector”, it is indicated.

The same source speaks of a “projection of creation of more than 10,000 direct and indirect jobs and an increase in agricultural production of the order of 15% by 2025”.
