A repeat driver was deprived of his liberty after a chase in the Chaudfontaine region, we learned on Sunday from the Liège public prosecutor’s office.
A reported vehicle attracted the attention of police officers in the Secova zone on Saturday in the Chaudfontaine region.
Upon seeing the officers, the driver born in 1987 fled. A chase then began at high speed.
The driver committed various offenses and forced a police roadblock.
The individual was finally arrested while the car was stopped and he continued to flee on foot.
The suspect was driving while disqualified from driving. He was also the subject of a capture order as part of a three-year prison sentence for a previous hit-and-run accident which resulted in the death of a person.
The person concerned was deprived of his liberty. The case was put under investigation with a request for an arrest warrant.
