“Faced with the very strong risk of an absolute majority of the National Rally in the National Assembly, the choice is clear.” Second behind the RN Frédéric-Pierre Vos, of which he obtained half of the votes, the socialist Bertrand Brassens (New Popular Front) presents itself as the last defense against the RN.

“Today we call on all voters attached to republican values to unite around my candidacy to defeat the National Rally,” says the socialist from Compiègne (who now writes inclusively).

It could benefit from the voices of centrists, who call to block the path of the RN. Like Etienne Diot, the presidential majority candidate (4th), who will vote for him, “in a personal capacity”.

“The choice of division versus the choice of rebuilding the Nation”

The RN, in his eyes, is “the choice of the division of the nation, of the social fracture, of the collapse of our economy and of our republican values”. The camp that he represents is “the choice of hope, of the reconstruction of our nation, of the return of the humanist and universal Republic that we have never ceased to embody until now”.

He says he embodies “the vote for social justice, the rule of law, civil peace, an unprecedented mobilization for ecological change.” A Republican at heart, he promises “to be at the service of my fellow citizens, whatever their political sensibilities, to defend the higher general interest.”

He thanks all the residents who placed him in second position in this first round. “I will not disappoint them,” he assures.
