After a surprise dissolution of the National Assembly and a quick campaign, it is the moment of truth this Sunday, June 30, 2024, for the six candidates for the seat of deputy of the 9th constituency from Essonne. It’s time to discover the first round results legislative elections in this constituency known as Draveil — Ris-Orangis.

Overseas Minister Marie Guévenoux is a candidate for re-election

As a reminder, the ninth constituency of Essonne brings together the municipalities of Boussy-Saint-Antoine, Draveil, Épinay-sous-Sénart, Étiolles, Morsang-sur-Seine, Quincy-sous-Sénart, Ris-Orangis, Saint-Germain- lès-Corbeil, Saint-Pierre-du-Perray, Saintry-sur-Seine, Soisy-sur-Seine, Tigery and Varennes-Jarcy.

Outgoing MP Marie Guévenoux, elected since 2017, is running for re-election. In 2022, the current Minister Delegate for Overseas Territories came second in the first round (29.79% of the vote) before winning in the second round (51.27%) against a Nupes candidate.

Polling stations closed at 8 p.m. in Essonne. According to figures released by government services, turnout at 5 p.m. was 50.5%, compared to 32.7% two years ago, during the previous legislative elections.
