They were all there. All the public figures of the territory, with the exception of the MP, were present for the event this Friday, November 8, 2024. The senator Hervé Maureythe president of the SNA Frédéric DuchéTHE departmental advisors Pascal Lehongre and Cécile Caronhad responded to the invitation of Didier Courtat, the mayor of Ménillesnear Pacy-sur-Eure (Eure).
A chief magistrate who was “delighted that the only liberal pediatrician in Eure had chosen his commune to teach his art”.
Improving access to care for children is priceless; major work was necessary to transform the old library into a medical office.
The elected officials placed their trust in the doctor for the renovation and layout of his work space. This work cost nearly €50,000 for only 10% financial aid.. This may not be all, Senator Hervé Maurey affirming that he would explore avenues for additional funding since public health is a priority of the upper house, even if “the removal of the parliamentary reserve complicates the support for communities for projects that come as they come and are not programmed in the municipal budget.” Pascal Lehongre also promised to look into possible additional assistance from the Department.
Work completed in record time
On July 1, the start of the work was given. The plans drawn up by Dr. Boutemy were carefully examined in collaboration with Mickaël Graffin, Ménilles' works assistant. The 80 square meters available have been optimally arranged to create a large consultation room, a more modest one and a reception office overlooking the waiting room. “It was essential that the craftsmen commit to moving forward quickly despite the summer period,” rewinds Mickaël Graffin.
The latter contacted local companies and insisted that they prepare their quotes without delay. An emergency well understood by the craftsmen. “Aware of the importance of the project for the town, some have even postponed their summer holidays,” explains Mickaël Graffin, showing his pride in the responsiveness of local craftsmen.
All the companies involved are from the canton of Pacy-sur-Eure: AMD, based in Boncourt, took care of the electricity, while SSG Isolation in Chaignes took care of the sound insulation of the partitions. The plumber Loïc Suze, municipal councilor of Ménilles, was to set an example of responsiveness. Finally, the Menillon company of Frédéric Devriendt carried out the earthworks. Five parking spaces, including two reserved for doctors, are located in a private courtyard. Thanks to this mobilization, everything was ready for the opening of the office on November 4.
In the meantime, Dr. Boutemy expressed his sincere thanks to the municipality for allowing him to practice in such beautifully designed premises. “Recently settled in the region, I wanted to settle near my home and the Mayor immediately responded favorably to my request.”
A strengthened health offer
Dr. Boutemy will practice pneumo-allergology, diagnosis and monitoring of hyperactivity as well as general pediatrics. Established in private practice for years near Mantes, her professional career includes experience as a practitioner attached to the Raymond-Poincaré Hospital as well as the Necker Children's Hospital.
You know, collaborator Dr. Ikrame Chouchane, will provide general pediatric consultations. Et a medical assistant will welcome small patients and take care of the administration of the cabinet. Dr. Boutemy even expressed the wish to welcome a junior doctor. Formalized since the start of the 2023 school year, junior doctors are postgraduate students in the consolidation phase, who practice for a year in practice.
With the arrival of this pediatric practice, Ménilles takes an important step and thus strengthens the attractiveness of the town which has a pharmacy, a nurses' office, a practicing psychologist and since last year an ophthalmologist center.
Following the departure of the dietitian, a psychiatrist would be in the running to take over the practice… “We hope that the menillon health offer encourages the installation of a general practitioner. A room adjoining the pediatric office exists and, like Dr. Boutemy, the future doctor will be free to arrange it as he wishes! »
