The creation of the “Morocco-Mauritanian Network of Study and Research Centers” was announced Saturday evening in Nouakchott, at the initiative of the Moroccan Center for Parallel Diplomacy and Dialogue of Civilizations and the Association of Mauritanian Executives winners from Moroccan universities, institutes and schools.
The network, whose constitutive document was signed on the sidelines of a debate meeting on “The role of study and research centers in promoting economic development”, is made up of six research centers, laboratories and associations of Morocco and four centers and associations in Mauritania.
In addition to the Moroccan Center for Parallel Diplomacy and Dialogue of Civilizations and the Association of Mauritanian Executives Laureates from Moroccan Universities, Institutes and Schools, this network is made up of the center for historical studies and research on political and strategic issues, the Moroccan Association for Research and Cultural Exchange, the Mediterranean Development Center – Casablanca, the Legal Research and Policy Analysis Laboratory, the “Takamul” Center for Studies and Research, the Center Mauritanian Center for Legal, Economic and Social Research, the Nouakchott Center for Legal and Social Studies as well as the Mauritanian Center for Studies and Research in Human Rights.
The network seeks, according to its constitutive document, to establish itself as a platform for scientific and intellectual cooperation and to strengthen cooperation in the fields of academic research and innovation between Morocco and Mauritania. It also aims to become a bridge connecting research and academic institutions of the two countries to contribute to sustainable development based on scientific research.
In a statement to MAP, Abdelfattah Belamachi, president of the Moroccan Center for Parallel Diplomacy and Dialogue of Civilizations, stressed that the creation of this network represents a “quantum leap” in cooperation between Mauritania and Morocco and between universities. and academicians from both countries.
According to Mr. Belamachi, this network is the result of communication between actors, academicians and study centers from the two neighboring countries to work to promote scientific research, especially since there are promising prospects of bilateral cooperation in the field of scientific research, thanks to the political will of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
He considered that the creation of the network is based on close official and popular cooperation between the two countries in many fields, including education, development and common issues of various dimensions.
For her part, Tarba Amar, president of the Association of Mauritanian executives awarded to Moroccan universities, institutes and schools, noted that the creation of the network attests to the close cooperation between the two countries in many areas, notably education, development and common issues of various dimensions.
The network contributes to the strengthening of common cultural points and the exchange of experiences, expertise and visits between researchers, in order to serve the general orientations of the two countries.
