The new Quercy-Caussadais barracks, located in Monteils, was officially inaugurated this week, reports Actu.fr. This ambitious project, started in July 2023, saw the light of day after only 12 months of work.
With a surface area of 1,200 m², the building is now ready to accommodate the 58 firefighters who carry out more than 1,200 interventions each year in several municipalities in the department, such as Caussade and Puylaroque. These new infrastructures strengthen the capacities of the fire and rescue center in this strategic area of Tarn-et-Garonne.
A modern and sustainable building
Designed to minimize its environmental impact, the barracks integrates eco-responsible solutions such as photovoltaic panels, water recovery systems and the conservation of green spaces around the site. This project involved 16 local companies, thus contributing to the economy of Tarn-et-Garonne.
Funding was partly provided by the Departmental Council, which invested more than €600,000, representing 40% of the total budget. Thanks to this collaboration, the firefighters now have a modern center, both environmentally friendly and adapted to their essential missions in the region.
