Of the 675,000 voters in Reunion, 99,000 were called to elect the deputy of the 2th constituency of the island. It includes Le Port, La Possession and part of Saint-Paul.

For this first round of early legislative elections, the turnout in Reunion is estimated at 37.48%, at 5 p.m. In 2022, during the previous legislative elections, 23.77% of voters went to the polls in the first round in the 2th constituency. This is less than for the whole department, where the average participation rate was then 28.49%.

The 2th constituency includes Le Port, La Possession and part of Saint-Paul. It is a bottleneck towards the capital, densely populated since the constituency has nearly 123,000 inhabitants. Half of the population is over 35 years old.
