A 66-year-old man was found dead on Saturday evening, stabbed, in his apartment in Voiron (Isère), and his wife was taken into police custody shortly after the macabre discovery, the Grenoble prosecutor's office said on Sunday.
Aged 70, the victim's wife was interviewed on Sunday morning by police officers from the local judicial police department of Voiron, prosecutor Éric Vaillant told the press, confirming information from the regional daily The Dauphiné Libéré. The tragedy took place in an apartment on Boulevard de Campaloud, according to the daily.
“Several stab wounds”
According to the newspaper, it was the septuagenarian herself who alerted a neighbor on Saturday around 6:30 p.m., shortly after having stabbed her husband “several times” during an altercation which “degenerated”.
This neighbor then contacted the police and emergency services, the latter being unable to resuscitate the victim on site, according to this source.
