The departmental pétanque congress, which was recently held in Masseube, made it possible to verify that the Gers was indeed a land of bowlers.

The Gers Committee for pétanque and Provençal games held its annual congress last Saturday in Masseube, in the presence of many personalities such as Roger Breil, first city councilor; Jacques Brussiau, CDOS 32; Françoise Casale and Camille Bonne, departmental advisors; or even Jacques Def, SDJES. As usual for this congress, there was a strong participation with 78 clubs represented out of the 84 affiliated with CD32.

President Moïse Malonni was proud of departmental pétanque and its magnificent, unique and extraordinary results at the national level achieved by the Gers bowlers. No less than four national titles and one European title for the department's graduates (see the honor roll, under-paper).

Of course, President Malonni did not avoid the problems encountered during the mandate such as the lack of volunteers and the drop in the number of young licensees. On the other hand, the overall number of members (2,895) is increasing, as is participation in various competitions. Also note a stable number of leaders.

President Malonni, resolutely optimistic, knows that the combination of efforts of leaders, volunteers, municipalities, partners will ensure that the Gers will continue to shine in the heart of Gascony like a land of pétanque.

The outgoing president re-elected unanimously

After the activity and financial reports as well as those of the various commissions, the assessment is made that Gers pétanque is doing perfectly well. Many volunteers who are very involved in various actions have been honored with FFPJP diplomas and medals.

Only one candidate, the outgoing president Moïse Malonni, whom the congress unanimously re-elected for four years at the head of the departmental body.
