«The morning went very well with a very good turnout this morning, while we had a good turnout last week during the online vote.», affirmed the consul general in a declaration for Le360 while she inspected the voting operations from afar inside the Lycée Descartes in Rabat.

The center of Rabat has a French electoral register of just over 8,000 registered voters, some of whom voted on Sunday morning.

According to Sandrine Lelong-Motta, the first estimates of the results of the first round will be available in France at 8:00 p.m. and in the evening.

The Consul General also thanked the “volunteers (assistants and controllers) who helped voluntarily for the smooth organization of this election».

As for one voter, Baudoin Dupret, research director at the CNRS based in Rabat, considered that the vote was “very well organized and it happens calmly“, before hoping that “people will vote the right way“. We will not know any more, as voting must remain a private matter and a privilege of each citizen.

It should be noted that several candidates are in the running in this 9th constituency of French people living abroad. Among them are Karim Ben Cheikh, outgoing MP and candidate of the New Popular Front and Samira Djouadi of the Renaissance party.

The final 2nd round is scheduled for July 7. As a reminder, the 9th constituency covers the Maghreb and West Africa (excluding Benin, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo).
