In Michel Daboux's garden, at a place called La Motte, in La Baroche-Gondouin (commune attached to Lassay-les-Châteaux), in Mayenne, you cannot miss his house: 160 little men with white beards sit everywhere: on bicycles, in the cart, on the walls, on the roof and even on the electric pole.
Illuminations from 6 p.m. to midnight
Everything takes on an air of magic at nightfall when Michel Daboux lights the garlands from 6 p.m. to midnight.
With 160 Santas, I had to install a second generator
underlines Michel Daboux, who rushes to get them started as soon as the visitor arrives.
Likewise, he happily puts on his costume to pose with them. This year, a new piece of land called the annex makes the link with the agricultural professions that Michel likes to highlight.
He receives visitors
I started with around ten Santas around 2007-2008. I buy them in La Ferté-Macé (Orne) and I make changes in theme and layout every year,”
he specifies.
Installing them then removing them and storing them in a safe place for the following year takes him more than three months. On December 24 and 31, the installation will be visible all night.
