COATICOOK. Scenes from everyday life inspired the vast majority of the works in the “Together” exhibition, which Christine Larivière is presenting these days at the Beaulne Museum.

At the heart of her project, the artist tries to bring together all these stories that take place close to home, in her country, her province, her city, as well as elsewhere, in other countries such as Colombia or Ecuador. These scenes are universal. “Being together concerns us all, regardless of our origin or our way of life,” she says.

Passionate about visual arts since her childhood, the designer loves exploring all kinds of mediums, from graphite to charcoal, from watercolor to oil painting. Originally from the Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu region, she studied animation drawing and computer graphics, then did her classical studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Montreal, before continuing her training with the great master Achilles Kouamé.

Ms. Larivière is a member of the Institut des arts figuratifs and also of the Mondial Art Academia, where she was named “Artist of the Month” last April. The artist has received many awards and grants over the years. Her works are part of the collections of various municipalities, such as Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Brossard and Sainte-Anne-des-Plaines.

The “Together” exhibition is on display until September 8.
