The first day of the regional summer championships was as expected yesterday in the outdoor pool of La Source. No more, no less. On the Loiret side, we can be proud of many podiums and some swimmers who are the known locomotives of swimming in the department.

Apart from a dip in the 200m freestyle, the Loiret delegation collected a podium in each event of the day. Among the girls, Camille Varloteaux (USM Saran) won two titles in the 400m medley and 50m freestyle and a second place in the 800m freestyle. It is also on this test that we watched the young Saranese, 3 e time of the series. Behind the untouchable Océane Guay (EN Tours), we hoped that she could grab something. And she did it masterfully: “Winning the 50 and the 400 was one of my goals for the weekend,” said the woman who is still competing in two other events today. “What I want is to make good times and focus on the Summer Opens in mid-July.” Another satisfaction, Elly Ventolini (USM Saran) who won three races. It is also among the Espoirs that swimming in Loirétain shone, particularly thanks to the Saran club.

“Having fun with friends”

But the ECO is not left out with Lilou Girard Charpentier. In the seniors, Valentin Vilpoux, entered in six races during the weekend, did the job by winning the 50m breaststroke: “I had the French last week and I came to swim with my friends, have fun and of course to achieve the best possible times. I want to finish the season quietly. I am the favorite for certain races and so I want to play to win”, joked the Orléans native. Terry Goureau (ECO) and Charles Crevel (Olivet Natation) completed the satisfactions of the day.
