He has been at the head of the commune of his childhood since 2021. Didier Paitiermayor of Soulvache (Loire-Atlantique) announces its resignation ce Friday November 22, 2024.
Loire-Atlantique: the mayor of this town resigns
“I have decided to resign from the post of mayor because I cannot administer my municipality due to my deputies who systematically oppose my projects and any idea that I propose to energize the village,” begins Didier Paitier, in his resignation letter.
Born in 1962 in Rougé, Didier Paitier grew up in Soulvache. In his twenties, he left the village for the capital. But a few years later, he returned to his native village, until becoming mayor in 2021.
“I have been fighting for three years and somehow managed to get my ideas across thanks to my municipal councilors »confides the sixty-year-old.
Didier Paitier was attached to projects related to the architectural or cultural plan. He had also put in place activities for the Music Festival, but also for the end of year celebrations, with a Christmas market and gospel music. “I had to cancel this year's because I knew I would end up leaving. I am accused of investing too much money in these animations,” he says.
“Soulvache will remain my Proust madeleine”
Since the start of his mandate, Didier Paitier says he is “in permanent confrontation”with his three deputies. Today, everything dialogue is broken.
Not long ago, a plot of land in the village on which he planned to inaugurate a square was sold. A hard blow for the mayor of Soulvache. The last straw.
Having reached the end, Didier Paitier therefore decided to submit his resignation to the prefect, for his position as mayor.
“In presenting my resignation, our village will be a dead village, a village without a soul, and yet Soulvache will remain my Proust madeleine,” he declares in his last words. However, Didier Paitier will remain a municipal councilor in Soulvache.
A council should be set up to elect a new mayor.
