FOOTBALL: Pascal Tranquille leaves for four years

This Friday, June 28, in the large hall of Crédit Agricole in Amiens, the general assembly of the Somme football district took place. Which led to the re-election of Pascal Tranquille for a second term, until 2028.

In place for four years now, after having succeeded Marcel Glavieux, present with other guests, such as the president of the Hauts-de-France League Mr. Betremieux, Pascal Tranquille was re-elected and he will therefore begin his second term. Pascal Tranquille therefore succeeded in his first mandate which was not always easy with COVID and certain protests which, ultimately, had no effect since no one was able to compose a list of 24 members representing all football families.

Pascal Tranquille has nevertheless made some changes in the sense that he has called in new faces and we hope that these next four years will go well, because there is no shortage of construction sites. Football in the Somme is doing well, even if, at senior level, with the exception of Amiens SC, no team plays nationally at senior level, since the best are in a tough championship, that of R1 . Pascal Tranquille also took the opportunity to welcome the presence of his Oise counterpart Claude Coquema who has decided to stop and, for the first time, it will be a woman who will lead this important district.

Our work will be collective, that of a team

Pascal Tranquille, president of the Somme district

Marcel Glavieux wanted to be present as did Fernand Duchaussoy, who came from Berck and who was, we remember, the president of the FFF. The president also wanted to highlight the excellent relationships maintained for over thirty years between the district and Crédit Agricole, the main partner and which, as we know, provides the grand final of the Coupe de la Somme. He also congratulated the U17s of Amiens SC who, with the title of French champions, have joined the Samarian legend the seniors of SC AbbevilleFrench D4 champions at the end of the 70s.

Before the election which was beyond doubt, Pascal Tranquille recalled how football had an important role in our villages and that it was often the only activity and played its role as a social link wonderfully. In the world of football, the club is important and this is the reason why, at the end of the year, at the time of the election of the president of the 3F, amateur clubs will have the right to vote, and this, at a rate of 33%, on an equal footing with other families such as the Leagues and the Pros. “The Somme district must be of service to the clubs, insisted President Pascal Tranquille, who will soon retire. Our work will be collective, that of a team. Of course, I will invest myself differently, but I know that a President does not have all the powers. I keep from this first term a taste of unfinished business and the reason is simple: COVID. It is important that today football lives well in our villages.

Among the projects, obviously, is that of incivility which can only be combated by the efforts of everyone, districts and clubs. “Our goal is to grow our football and we want to prove ourselves worthy of your trust”added the president re-elected at 85%. Other interventions took place, notably those of Didier Bardet concerning the regulations and Antonio Dos Santos who related to the status of educators. Also that of the president of the League, Mr. Betremieux, who was keen to point out that football was not outside the law and that, for example, this season, leaders in an irregular situation had had their licenses withdrawn. And to remember that people who take care of children must above all be made redundant.

The evening ended with the presentation of the Ethics Charter to the following clubs: D3: QCL Amiénois Sud, D2: Candas, D1: Doullens which also gained access to the League. Three valiant leaders received the French team jersey: Alain Creton, Jean Marie Warmé and Roland Grain. Finally, the presidents Betremieux and Tranquille called the author of these lines who was awarded the Golden Volunteer Trophy for the Hauts de France League. A very rare award.
