Romain Bardet won the first stage of the Tour de France on Saturday in Rimini (Italy). He is logically the first wearer of the yellow jersey.
The Tour de France is off to a flying start. Since Florence, the peloton had a busy start on the Italian roads, with 206 kilometers and seven climbs listed on the menu.
In tandem in the last 30 kilometers, Romain Bardet and Frank Van den Broek fought until the streets of Rimini to go for the victory and the first yellow jersey. Not without emotion, the Frenchman raised his arms in front of his teammate, a symbolic image for his final Tour de France.
