France – Argentina. Antoine Dupont (XV of France): “A desire not to break up”

At a press conference, the captain of the French selection Antoine Dupont returned to the reasons behind his team's victory against the Pumas.

You made yourself desired after this victory. What happened?

We recovered in the locker room and spent time with our Argentinian friends. But nothing is much more fun…

What is your assessment of this fall tour?
He is very positive with three victories against high quality opponents. What is even more positive is our room for improvement. In my opinion, the gap could have been wider against the All Blacks and this evening too, against Argentina. We obviously have things to work on in preparation for the 6 Nations Tournament but all of this is encouraging.

In which areas of play, precisely?

We can have more consistency in our offensive game. Sometimes, during a match, we have difficulty finding our cells and what we work on during the week. It's a shame because we have cartridges and beautiful individualities. Our ground game, our kicking game can also be improved. Despite everything, we savor this victory and beyond that, this tour.

Personally, how did you experience this return to the French team after spending a year away from it?

We were all happy to see each other again. There was impatience to play these matches. For my part, I also have a lot of things to improve in the next matches. […] Overall, we nevertheless showed a remarkable state of mind in these three matches. There is a real desire among us not to break up.
