The event brings together hundreds of participants throughout the weekend! For the tenth time this year, Draguignan celebrates the dragon. And as it should be.

The Arcus Castrum Company once again paraded in the company of the legendary mechanized smoke-breathing “Dragonium”.

Draguignan is adorned with yellow and red, the colours of its coat of arms. Philippe Arnassan.

The dancers, the bravaders of the Vallée de l’Argens and the Condor fanfare were adorned in red and yellow, the colors of the town’s coat of arms.

There were already crowds at the launch of the festivities on Friday evening, particularly during the traditional waiters’ race. The public also did not miss the tasting of pig on the spit on the Market Square.

He was back on Saturday evening, for the aperitif concerts. A dozen stages brought the city center to life with the rhythm of blues, groove, pop and even rock!

During the day, Saturday, around forty fun and cultural activities flourished throughout the old centre of Draguignan. Rue de Trans was suddenly conquered by the musicians of the Godogodom brass band, at the end of the morning.

On the Place des Comtes de Provence side, the Pignans educational farm introduced a whole host of animals to children: rabbits, chickens, ducks, sheep, goats, pigs… Isis the goat even let herself be milked by the little ones. Who were able to learn how to make butter!

At the concept store Le Vent se leva, on rue des Marchands, Aurore was leading a “Je dragonne” workshop, a clay modeling. The goal? Make your most beautiful dragon before cooking the clay and glazing it.

Further on, in the rue de Trans, we saw dragons everywhere. The fault lies with the Association of the Old Center of Draguignan, which initiated the “Circuit des dragons”. “In total, 85 dragons were made by 35 participants”says Véronique, head of ACAD.

Eighty-five dragons are exhibited at the Caval’art gallery and in the rue de Trans. Philippe Arnassan.

The works are on display until August 15 in the Caval’art gallery, located on Rue de Trans. Three works have also won awards.

Around ten creative workshops are still offered this Sunday, June 30, notably on rue de Trans. Philippe Arnassan.

But the party isn’t over yet! Activities can still be found this Sunday, June 30. To take advantage of it, you must not delay, at the risk of awakening the fury of the monster…
