A criminal journey in the middle of the city. A 22-year-old man was arrested this Thursday in Rennes after attacking and raping a motorist, according to information from Europe 1 confirmed to Le Parisien by the Rennes prosecutor’s office. The suspect must be referred to the prosecution this Saturday.
Early Thursday morning, around 5:30 a.m., the young woman had just dropped someone off at the train station when a man forced his way into her car, threatened her and forced her to withdraw money from an ATM.
Already known to the police
In a second step, he took the wheel of the vehicle, drove her out of the city centre and forced her to have sexual intercourse. The man then returned to the city centre to abandon the victim there, before fleeing in her car.
The vehicle was spotted and the individual arrested by police shortly before 2 p.m. Already known to the judicial institution, the suspect native of Mayotte must be “referred this Saturday to the public prosecutor’s office with a view to the opening of a criminal judicial investigation”, tells us the public prosecutor of Rennes, Philippe Astruc.
