2024 legislative elections in Rennes: the ultra-left is preparing to demonstrate after the results of the 1st round

The vote has not yet been held but the activists d’ultragauche are already announcing their intention to demonstrate against the far right in the streets of Rennes, on the evening of the results of the first round of the legislative elections, this Sunday, June 30, 2024. They meet up Place Sainte-Annefrom 7:30 p.m.

An announcement reminiscent of those issued during the presidential election in April 2022. Hundreds of protesters ultra-left had disputed the results and their opposition to the two candidates qualified for the second round, that is to say Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen.

Various degradations had been committed, particularly on urban equipment and shops in the hypercentre. Two years later, shopkeepers are still affected by this violence. Some are even anticipating further damage on Sunday 30 June 2024 by barricaded with wooden panels.
