Hard blow for the French team. While the Blues and the Red Devils were tied (0-0) in the 25th minute of play in their round of 16 of the Euro, Adrien Rabiot was warned by referee Glenny Nyberg while he was already under the blow of a suspension. At the halfway line and after a missed pass from Antoine Griezmann, the man who is now free after the end of his contract at Juventus rushed at Citizen Jérémy Doku and received a yellow card.

A warning which deprives him of a possible quarter-final on Friday in Hamburg against the winner of the quarter-final between Slovenia and Portugal. Indeed, a player who receives two yellow cards in all matches before the semi-finals is automatically suspended for the next round. Thus, Adrien Rabiot will not be present in Hamburg on Friday against the winner of the quarter-final between Slovenia and Portugal.

Earlier in the match, Aurélien Tchouaméni had also received a yellow card for protesting before another from Antoine Griezmann. Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, who is not a starter, are still under suspension. Follow France’s round of 16 against Belgium on leparisien.fr.
