No performance at the Zénith de Nancy this Saturday June 29, 2024 for IAM and MC Solaar. The Nancy Open Air concerts are canceled. Meurthe-et-Moselle is placed on orange “thunderstorm” alert. Other events will also be canceled in Lorraine.
“Taking into account the weather forecasts from Météo France, the department of Meurthe-et-Moselle is placed at orange “thunderstorms” vigilance level this Saturday June 29, 2024” announces the Prefecture of Meurthe-et-Moselle.
“In the afternoon, isolated thunderstorms should occur in Lorraine, accompanied by possible wind gusts of between 40 and 60 km/h. Around 8:00 p.m., a more widespread stormy deterioration should reach the Grand Est region before continuing its progress towards the north” she specifies. “These storms are particularly virulent. They are accompanied by violent gusts of wind (80 to 100 km/h, up to 120 km/h possible locally), large hail and heavy accumulations of rain (40 mm in less than an hour and very locally up to 80 mm over the entire episode)“.
Under these conditions, and in view of a weather situation that promises to be exceptional, the concert by MC Solaar and IAM this Saturday evening at the Zénith du Grand Nancy as part of the Nancy Open Air 2024 is cancelled. Tickets are refundable.
Other events may also be canceled in Lorraine. This is the case for example in Epinal. “Following the thunderstorm warning with risk of tornadoes, strong gusts and torrential rain“, the town hall has taken the decision to cancel this traditional festivity organized by the Société des Fêtes d’Epinal at the Champ de Mars.
