End of Orange Vigilance in Yvelines. Due to some residual snow showers on the heights at the start of the afternoon, and refreezing on wet roads overnight from Friday to Saturday, the department remains on Yellow Vigilance until tomorrow.
To guarantee everyone's safety, preventive measures have been put in place:
Road traffic
- The situation is improving but the roads remain slippery. Users are urged to exercise caution when traveling.
- Trees fell on certain roads. Clearance operations are still underway. Other tree and plant falls could occur.
- Heavy goods vehicles weighing 7.5 tonnes can once again circulate on the various axes of the department.
- Road managers are still carrying out salting and clearing operations across the entire road network.
Educational establishments
- By order of the prefect of Yvelines, school transport will be suspended throughout the department.
- Schools remain open and will welcome children who arrive.
Conduct to follow
- The prefect encourages employers, public and private, to allow their employees to telework if they can.
- Stay informed by following the official accounts of the Yvelines prefecture (@prefet78) and Sytadin (@sytadin).
- Limit your travel and, if you must take the road, equip your vehicle with special equipment, increase safety distances, let clearance vehicles pass and do not attempt to overtake them.
- Respect the instructions of the police on the ground.
The Yvelines prefecture continues to monitor the situation closely. New information will be communicated regularly on our social networks.
