This Thursday, November 21, a resident of Alès filed a complaint at the city police station, after his two dogs were injured. The dogs were injured by 4.5 mm pellet shots. One of the animals had to be euthanized due to the severity of its injuries. According to our information, the dog was seriously injured in the spine, which led to his euthanasia. The other dog is still in care in a veterinary clinic in Saint-Christol-lès-Alès, in Gard.
Investigators from the Gard national police quickly focused their research on the complainant's neighbor, a 72-year-old man. The latter was arrested and taken into police custody. After his hearing, he was released with a summons for prior admission of guilt (CRPC) and a summons by a judicial police officer (COPJ). Acts of violence against animals are punishable by law and encourage citizens to report any suspicious behavior.
