Since returning from the All Saints' Day holidays, it has always been the same observation. The boiler at Paul Bert elementary school in Aulnay-sous-Bois has been broken since November 4. With temperatures falling, and the Île-de-France region placed on orange snow-ice alert, the thermometer shows only 13 degrees in the classrooms. A situation which is not an isolated case.
The town hall explains the situation at the microphone of France Blue Paris : « a technician comes to restart it three times a day, and it leaves for 1h30, but it is not satisfactory “. To compensate for the lack of heat, mobile convectors were installed in the rooms. They are lit at 5 a.m. by the guards, but when the parents arrive, it is no more than 13 or 14 degrees. On November 14, the city's mayor Bruno Beschizza contacted the company Engie Solutions, holder of the operation and maintenance contract for the municipality's heating installations, by letter. On Facebook, the town of Aulnay-sous-Bois expresses its indignation regarding the breaches of Engie Solutions' obligations. The mayor gives his feelings about the quality of service of the company which “ is not what users have the right to expect ».
To ensure the safety and health of children, “ Many parents choose not to leave their child at school in these conditions, we understand them”reacts the town hall.
There is no ministerial text which indicates a minimum or maximum temperature for classrooms. However, according to the World Health Organization, health risks are real when temperatures in premises are below 14 degrees or above 30 degrees.
