NÎMES An exhibition of pictorial works created by students of the Saint-Stanislas institution

A multidisciplinary project combining local culture and history was set up for 5th and 6th grade students at the Saint-Stanislas institution. They had the chance to meet the raseteurs Maxime Favier and Belkacem Benhammou.

On June 11, 6th and 5th grade students from the Saint-Stanislas institution in Nîmes offered an exhibition of pictorial works. The theme was the Costumes staged in the Arena of Nîmes – From Roman games to bullfights. This project was led by Karine Bousquet, Spanish teacher. The 6th grade students were able to visit the arenas with Éric Dars, history and geography teacher specializing in Romanity and co-creator of the Roman Games in Nîmes. He was also the sponsor of the exhibition.

Then, the young people made drawings of Roman costumes and bullfighting, in collaboration with their visual arts teachers, Christian Bonifas and Emilie Collier. The latter is a painter. She was able to lend some of these works including The Bright Clothes of Bullfighting which will be exhibited during Jeudis de Nîmes from July 4. With Karine Bousquet, the students presented mini-sketches to liven up this multidisciplinary work, mixing local culture and history.

During the exhibition, the raseteurs Maxime Favier and Belkacem Benhammou intervened to explain their profession. An unforgettable experience for the young people who were able to meet the main players in the Camargue race. Exhibited until the evening, the productions could be presented to parents. This project was a wonderful moment of sharing for students and teachers.
