The gardens of the Côte-d’Or departmental council will host the 100% Côte-d’Or summer market this Friday, an event that celebrates the richness and diversity of local products. Organized in a festive atmosphere, this market attracted a large audience who came to discover the gastronomic and artisanal treasures of the region.

A Market with Local Colors

Among the exhibitors, the company A Edelweiss based in Flavigny-sur-Ozerain and created by Fanny Abadi, presented its organic, pure and natural essential oils, as well as food and cosmetic products. Anne Pariente and Chloé Pelté, representatives of the company on the market, highlighted their flagship product: blackcurrant bud pepper, an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant of choice. “It is a 100% Côte-d’Or product that we harvest and grind ourselves, perfect for enhancing meats, cheeses and salads,” explains Anne Pariente.

Crafts in the spotlight

Gérard Biziot, artisan basket maker from the Eclisse et Brindille company, also won over visitors with his peasant basketry creations. Using materials found in local hedgerows, he makes baskets, baskets and bird feeders. “It’s an ancient tradition, which has today become a symbol of quality and respect for the environment,” underlines Gérard, satisfied with the warm welcome reserved for the artisans.

Natural Medicinal Plants

Patrick from the company Au fil des Cueillettes, introduced his products made from medicinal plants picked in the wild or grown in Lentenay. For 18 years, he has specialized in gemmotherapy, the making of balms, care oils, vinegars and syrups. “We work a lot with gourmet restaurants who appreciate our wild fruit jams that are not available in stores,” says Patrick, emphasizing the importance of this market and this 100% Côte-d’Or label for the visibility of local artisans.

A Day Rich in Entertainment

The market was also punctuated by various activities: sports classes for children, Zumba demonstrations, concerts, and live broadcasts of the first stage of the Tour de France. Visitors were able to enjoy food stands, wooden games, relaxation and cycling areas, as well as a bike ride for the youngest.

An Appreciated Initiative

The participants unanimously welcomed the 100% Côte-d’Or market initiative. “It’s a fantastic showcase for us artisans, and recognition of our know-how,” declared Gérard Biziot. Patrick also expressed his gratitude, adding that this event allows us to meet consumers directly and share their passion for authentic and local products.

The market continues this Saturday with new activities and the same festive energy. With friends or family, visitors are invited to come and discover and support local artisans and producers, in an enchanting and friendly setting.
